Having the right documents ready makes the application faster and reduces the chance of rejection. These are the documents applicants are commonly asked to bring.
Document checklist
- Family card (ration card) that lists you.
- Aadhaar card.
- Bank passbook of the account where you want the payment.
- Voter ID (EPIC).
- A recent passport-size photograph.
- A working mobile number for SMS updates.
Your Aadhaar must be linked to your bank account for the money to arrive. This bank–Aadhaar link (called NPCI seeding) is a separate step from ordinary bank KYC. If you are not sure it is done, ask your bank branch to seed your Aadhaar for direct benefit transfer. The payments guide explains this in detail.
A few tips
- Carry both the originals and photocopies.
- Check that your name and date of birth match across the documents.
