Once you have applied, it is natural to want to know what is happening with your application. The government updates the status on its portal and sends messages to your registered mobile number.
How to check
- Open the official portal at kmut.tn.gov.in.
- Look for the application or status option and enter the details it asks for, such as your application or reference number.
- Read the status shown for your application.
Watch for an SMS on the mobile number you gave in the form. The government uses SMS (and sometimes email) to tell you whether your application is approved or rejected.
What the result usually means
- Approved / sanctioned — you have been added as a beneficiary and payment will follow. See the payments guide.
- Pending / under verification — your details are still being checked. Wait for the next update.
- Rejected — you were not added. The message usually gives a reason. See common rejection reasons and how to appeal.
This page is an independent explainer to help you understand the scheme. It is not the government and cannot process your application. Rules, amounts and dates can change, so always confirm the current details on the official portal at kmut.tn.gov.in or at your local ration shop or e-sevai centre before you act.
