The Kalaignar Magalir Urimai Thogai scheme (often shortened to Magalir Urimai Thogai) is a welfare programme of the Government of Tamil Nadu. It provides a monthly “rights grant” of ₹1,000 to women who are recognised as the head of their family, to support their livelihood and independence.
